- The CDM Executive Board is calling for experts on carbon capture and storage (CCS) to submit their applications to act as members of the CCS Working Group, launched by the Board to support it in its work relating to CCS methodological issues.
- The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions from Canada, Iceland and Nauru, on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), containing additional information relating to the quantified economywide emission reduction targets contained in document FCCC/SB/2011/INF.1/Rev.1. The submissions will be considered by the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) at its 15th session.
- The UNFCCC report on the workshop on common metrics to calculate the carbon dioxide equivalence of greenhouse gases (GHG) addresses: uncertainties; new and refined areas or metrics; policy goals; and the relationship between policy frameworks and metrics. This information is expected to serve as a basis for continued consideration of common metrics under the methodological issues under the Convention by SBSTA.

- Brazil’s submission, which summarizes an informal workshop on eligibility of land with forests in exhaustion as CDM project activities, was made under the SBSTA agenda item on implications of the inclusion of reforestation of lands with forest in exhaustion as afforestation and reforestation (A/R) CDM project activities.
- The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a submission from Swaziland, on behalf of the African States, containing information on support to the national adaptation plan process in the least developed countries (LDCs), which will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 36th session.
- The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submission by Australia containing additional information relating to the quantified economywide emission reduction targets contained in document FCCC/SB/2011/INF.1/Rev.1, which will be considered by AWG-LCA at its 15th session.
- The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions by Malawi and Brazil containing their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions for REDD+. The submissions will be considered by the AWG-LCA at its 15th session.
It is heartening indeed to learn that Bangladesh has been nominated by the least developed countries (LDCs) to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to help vulnerable countries fight climate risks. This was disclosed by Dr Hasan Mahmud, Minister for Environment and Forests at a seminar on ‘Adaptation Programme to Face Climate Risk’ held in the capital recently. - The first meeting of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has been postponed, pending finalization of the process for nominations from countries to the membership of the Board.
